Known for her dynamic live performances, country artist Dasha closed her set at the 2025 Stagecoach Festival in Indio, Calif., with her worldwide hit “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’)” to thunderous applause. She then jumped off the stage, climbed over a barrier and continued singing as she danced with fans through the crowd.

A Drop The Spotlight review noted: “The 2025 ACM Best New Female nominee exceeded all expectations, stormed the stage on a mission, and solidified herself as one of the new superstars in country music.”

“Getting to perform at Stagecoach has always been a dream,” said Dasha. “So it was wild to get to experience that with my family and so many friends.”

Performing on Saturday at a special July 4 show at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua, Dasha (born Anna Dasha Novotny) is known for her high-energy shows. A Montreal Rocks review noted: “She expels energy like a dynamo, emerging from the dark in a fully black leather fit with knee-high cowboy boots. Her voice is a powerhouse and her fashion is killer.”

This country and pop singer-songwriter is best known for her viral hit single “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’),” which exploded on TikTok in 2024, peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and racked up 1 billion streams. Rolling Stone praised: “The TikTok hit has become a sensation, thanks to its line-dance moves and infectious chorus.”

“I knew ‘Austin’ was special from the day we wrote it, but I never could have imagined it would become what it has,” said Dasha. “This song has completely changed my life in the best possible way. It’s opened doors I never thought were possible and given me the dream I’ve been chasing since I was a little girl playing coffee shops and farmers markets.”

Dasha created a line dance to go along with the song.

“When I first made the line dance, I hoped people would have fun with it and want to dance along,” she recalled. “Watching it bring so many people together and create a real sense of community has been the most rewarding part of all. Seeing people connect through this song, make memories to it and find each other because of it is something I’ll always be so proud of.”

In 2024, she sold out her first global headlining tour, Dashville USA, and performed on two of the biggest televised broadcasts of the year, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”

“There have been a few moments that still don’t feel real,” she said. “Getting to play Stagecoach was a huge one. Performing on Jimmy Kimmel and ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ were definitely pinch-me moments too.”

Dasha’s latest single, “Mad About You,” received rave reviews. An Empire magazine writer noted: “If Taylor Swift monetized love songs, Dasha knows how to turn heartache into a country hit. She knows how to get those boots to start working, even when her subject matter is quite sad. She’s one of the best artists from this new generation of singer-songwriters.”

Born and raised in San Luis Obispo, California, of Czech descent, Dasha danced ballet and hip-hop, won national poetry competitions in school and learned to play guitar and piano at 8 years old.

She had long dreamt about a music career. “I’ve wanted this since I was a little girl. My dad used to take me everywhere he could so I could play, whether it was coffee shops, farmers markets, bars that would let me sneak in a set, or anywhere else that would have me. I did musical theater growing up too, but being on stage has always felt like home.”

Releasing her first song when she was 13, she later collaborated with electronic music artist Lyfes on a dance remake of R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion.” Her first album, 2023’s “Dirty Blonde,” was full of vibrant pop, with Earmilk praising, “the album is a melting pot of emotions and genres right from the first notes.”

She followed up with “What Happens Now?” in 2024, which featured the smash hit “Austin.”

Dasha has cited influences ranging from country star Kacey Musgraves and rapper Mac Miller to Frank Ocean and country artist Megan Moroney.

In 2025, she recorded the super catchy “Not at This Party,” which earned over 130 million streams and an upbeat remix from Grammy-winning DJ/producer David Guetta.

Reviewing her latest “Anna” EP release, All Country News praised, “In a genre built on storytelling and grit, few newcomers have carved their lane quite like Dasha. With Anna, the rising country-pop powerhouse peels back the layers, revealing an artist who can be both wild and wise, tender and untamed, often in the span of a single song.”

It included the song “Oh, Anna!” an ode to her younger self, singing how she’s living the life that Anna always wanted.

What brings her the most joy as an artist is “seeing all the little kids up on the rail at my shows,” she said. “Getting to do this for a living is already something I’m incredibly grateful for, but seeing those little girls and boys in the front row singing every word back to me is a feeling that never gets old. I remember being that kid who dreamed about being on stage one day, so getting to see that excitement in them is really special. It’s something I’ll never take for granted.”

Dasha will perform at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua, at 6 p.m. Saturday. The evening will include Hawaii musicians TJ Fevella, Tiara Gomes and Akoni Palomino. Tickets are available at ritzcarltonmaui.com/dasha.
