Film by Maui attorney selected for festival
“All The Things I Leave You (Patawid),” an Ilokano-language film created by Maui-based Filipino American attorney Lance D. Collins, has been selected as the closing feature of the Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival on July 12 at Hawaii Theatre on Oahu.
The film explores transnational migration, cultural identity and Maui sugar plantation-era history. Its trailer has received more than 4.5 million views on YouTube, and the film had a commercial run in the Philippines in early June, according to organizers.
Lead actor Benedix Ramos and award-winning Filipino filmmaker Jade Castro are scheduled to fly in from the Philippines to join Collins for the festival’s closing events.
