West Maui residents may dispose of bulky recyclable items for free during a Go Green Recycling event from 8 a.m. to noon July 18 at 300 Lahainaluna Road near the Pioneer Mill smokestack. Participants should enter from Kuhua Street.

Drop-off appointments are required. Accepted items include air conditioners, lead-acid batteries, washers, dryers, dishwashers, microwaves, refrigerators, stoves, water heaters, tires, scrap metal and electronics such as televisions, computers, printers, copiers and monitors.

Commercial drop-offs will not be accepted.

The event is hosted by Mālama Maui Nui in partnership with the Maui County Department of Environmental Management. Adults are also being sought for one-hour volunteer shifts. Water, snacks and personal protective equipment will be provided.
