Green Fee workshop set for Wailuku
Community organizations interested in applying for Hawaii’s new Green Fee funding can attend a free workshop Aug. 13 in Wailuku.
The workshop will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the J. Walter Cameron Center, 95 Mahalani St., as part of a statewide series organized by the Care for 'Āina Now Coalition, Hawaii Green Growth and Hawaii Public Policy Advocates.
The training is designed to help nonprofits, environmental organizations and community groups prepare for Requests for Proposals tied to Green Fee funding established under Act 96. Topics include state procurement requirements, proposal preparation, contracting, compliance and project development.
Organizers encourage participants to bring a project concept that aligns with Green Fee priorities, including environmental stewardship, climate resilience, hazard mitigation and sustainable tourism.
Approximately $130 million was allocated through the state budget following the 2026 legislative session to support Green Fee projects statewide.
