Lee fires final-round 68 to win Maui Amateur title

Lakota Lee of Kihei shot a final-round 4-under-par 68 to rally from behind and win the Championship Flight title at the ninth HSGA Maui Amateur at Wailea Golf Club.
Lee entered the final round after opening rounds of 75 and 76. His closing 68 was the lowest round of the Championship Flight and gave him a three-round total of 219, 3 over par.
Jordan Sato of Honolulu and Landon Long of Lahaina tied for second at 220. Sato followed rounds of 76 and 68 with a final-round 76, while Long, the first-round leader after shooting a 70, closed with a 75.
The three-round tournament included players from Maui and across Hawaii. Champions were crowned across six divisions, showcasing a mix of local talent and veteran experience at Wailea Golf Club.
Craig Larson of Lahaina won the Senior Men’s Championship with a three-round total of 217, 1 over par. Larson shot rounds of 74, 68 and 75 to finish one stroke ahead of Makawao’s Keith Anderson.
Anderson finished at 218, while Skip Storm of Kapolei placed third at 220. Rohn Stark of Lahaina shot a final-round 2-under 70 to finish fourth at 223.
Mariko Yonemura of Waipahu won the Women’s Championship by seven strokes with a 4-under total of 212. Yonemura shot rounds of 70, 72 and 70.
Nicole Tanoue of Honolulu placed second at 219. Ariya Soldwisch of Wailuku and Jacey Kage of Aiea tied for third at 223.
Bryce Iwasaki of Wailuku won the Mid-Amateur Flight with a three-round total of 226. Iwasaki shot rounds of 76, 76 and 74 to finish nine strokes ahead of Lahaina’s Dustin Barton, who placed second at 235.
Denver Coon of Wailuku finished third at 241.
Graham Garcia of Kahului won the A Flight with a two-round total of 161 after shooting rounds of 84 and 77.
Rob Hale of Kailua-Kona finished one stroke back at 162, while Dawson Yamaguchi of Honolulu placed third at 167.
Roger Yoshizawa of Honolulu won the Senior Net Flight with a two-round total of 152. Yoshizawa shot rounds of 75 and 77 to finish one stroke ahead of Jeff Irvine of Honolulu.
Norbert Pfahler of Lihue and Kaleo Smith of Kapaa tied for third at 160.
