Lottery distributes $50,000 in gift cards to Lahaina workers, businesses
Hawaii Community Lending, Kaibigan ng Lāhaina and the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii have completed a lottery drawing to distribute $50,000 in Amazon gift cards to Lahaina workers and small businesses impacted by the August 2023 wildfires.
The virtual lottery included representatives from Hawaii Community Lending and Kaibigan ng Lāhaina. Recipients were drawn from impacted families served by the organizations.
Amazon, a Chamber of Commerce Hawaii member, donated 25 gift cards worth $2,000 each for the lottery.
“This drawing is about giving a boost to Lahaina workers and small businesses and those who continue to work toward recovery,” said Jeff Gilbreath, CEO of Hawaii Community Lending. “We know it’s a long road, but we want Lahaina families and business owners to know that they are not alone; we are still walking that road with them. We are grateful to our partners in this effort for their support of our Lahaina community.”
