Maui Calls gala returns Aug. 22 at MACC

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center's annual Maui Calls benefit gala will return from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 22 at the MACC.

Now in its 28th year, the fundraising event supports the MACC's arts education, cultural and community programs. This year's theme is "Celebrating Vintage Aloha Wear."

The evening will feature food from Maui restaurants and caterers, wine tastings, live entertainment, silent and live auctions, and dancing.

Scheduled performers include Benny Uyetake, Joel Katz, the Hula Honeys, Nā Hoa, Hālau Nā Lei Kaumaka O Uka under the direction of kumu hula Nāpua Greig, and the JD "On the Rocks" Band.

Participating restaurants announced so far include Wailea Beach Resort, Four Seasons Resort Maui, Kō, Humble Market Kitchin, Cafe O'Lei Oceanside Kitchen, Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Star Noodle, Aloha Mixed Plate, SixtyTwo MarcKet, Leilani's on the Beach, Spoon & Key Market, Haleakala Farm and Malia Coffee Co. Additional participants are expected.

The event is for guests 21 and older with a valid photo ID.
