Jessika Galvez, founder and CEO of Ohana Care Maui, will speak at the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset meeting Aug. 4 at the YMCA West Side Resource Center in Lahaina.
Galvez will discuss the company's levels of home care, including assistance with activities of daily living, meal preparation, feeding, monitoring vital signs, bed-bound care and two-person lifting and transfers. She also will outline services provided in private homes and at Kalama Heights Senior Living, where Ohana Care is the on-site care provider.
Galvez began her career as a certified nursing assistant and founded Ohana Care Maui in 2014 after identifying a need for higher-quality home care on Maui. She has worked as a certified nursing assistant for 16 years and has experience caring for geriatric and quadriplegic clients.
The meeting will be held at the YMCA West Side Resource Center in the former Tamura's building at Emerald Plaza, 226 Kupuohi St. A social period will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the program from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Light snacks will be available for purchase.
