Tree falls on vehicle on Hana Highway, injures five

Five visitors were hurt Tuesday after a tree fell onto their vehicle along the Hana Highway near mile marker 9, according to the Maui Fire Department.
Firefighters responded at 2:33 p.m. and found a tree had fallen onto a passing vehicle with five occupants.
One person suffered a head injury and was flown to Maui Memorial Medical Center. The other four occupants were taken to the hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.
Firefighters assisted the occupants, removed the tree from the roadway and reopened the highway. The incident concluded at 4:39 p.m.
