Haleakala National Park’s Summit District remains closed; Kipahulu District reopens

The Summit District of Haleakala National Park will remain closed through the weekend for storm recovery, including road clearing and facility restoration.
The Kipahulu District is open, and Kipahulu Campground reopened Aug. 21.
The National Park Service said the Summit District will remain closed until conditions are safe. Notifications about the park's reopening will be posted on the park's website and social media channels at nps.gov/hale.
