A 21-year-old Maui woman was rescued Aug. 13 after falling while hiking along a river in Iao Valley, according to the Maui Fire Department.
Firefighters responded at about 11:30 a.m. after the woman suffered ankle and arm injuries and was unable to walk out. Crews established a rope system and lifted her to the road, where she was evaluated by emergency medical personnel.
Engine 1 and Rescue 10 responded. The rescue concluded at 1:13 p.m.
