The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will host two free public programs in September in conjunction with its exhibition, "Keoni of Hawai'i: Art of the Aloha Shirt," at Schaefer International Gallery.
"ACTIVATIONS: After Hours at the Gallery" will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 4 at the gallery, Yokouchi Pavilion and courtyard. The event will feature retro aloha fashion and DJ music.
The Observe & Play Family Day in honor of Shirley Yokouchi is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 19 at Schaefer International Gallery.
Both programs are part of MACC's public programming for the current exhibition, which celebrates the art and cultural legacy of the aloha shirt.
