The two women killed Saturday night in a utility terrain vehicle crash on Molokai have been identified as Shyalyn Rapanot, 19, and Trinnity Napoleon-Lima, 20, both of Kaunakakai, according to the Maui Police Department.
Police said Napoleon-Lima was driving a Polaris UTV with five passengers near Halawa Valley Park when the vehicle veered toward the shoulder, crossed Kamehameha V Highway and struck a large tree stump about 10:57 p.m. Saturday.
All six occupants were ejected. Rapanot and Napoleon-Lima died at the scene.
Four other Kaunakakai residents -- two girls ages 16 and 17 and two men ages 20 and 22 -- were taken to Molokai General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said none of the occupants were wearing helmets or seat belts. Alcohol and speed are considered factors in the crash.
