The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program is seeking volunteers to help Maui residents prepare and file income tax returns during the 2027 tax season. The free service is scheduled to run Feb. 1 through April 15 at sites across Maui.
Volunteer counselors work with clients on tax returns. Client facilitators greet clients, check that they have the necessary paperwork and help manage appointments. Accounting or tax preparation experience is not required; training is provided.
Training for new volunteers is planned for mid-December, with training for all volunteers in mid-January. Those interested can learn more and apply through the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program at linklearncertification.com. For information, contact Hana Kraker at 808-283-7135.
