Construction Industry of Maui Golf Tournament raises nearly $60,000 for vocational programs

The Construction Industry of Maui's fourth annual golf tournament raised nearly $60,000 to support construction vocational programs in Maui County, according to event organizers.
The tournament on Sept. 19 at The Dunes at Maui Lani Golf Course was organized to help develop the next generation of construction industry workers. Proceeds will support vocational programs at Maui County high schools and other educational institutions, helping students explore careers in the construction trades.
Kevin Keller of West Maui Construction and secretary of the Construction Industry of Maui said the tournament's participation and sponsorship support will help strengthen the local construction workforce.
"Every team and sponsor is doing more than enjoying a day of golf -- they're helping shape the next generation of skilled construction professionals," Keller said.
Maui County high schools and vocational programs will be invited to apply for funding through a formal application process expected to be announced on the CIM website and through notifications from the Hawaii State Department of Education in March 2027.
Funding will be awarded to programs based on demonstrated need and their potential to improve students' education and career readiness in the construction trades.
CIM said its mission is to develop and support the skilled workforce needed by Maui's construction industry while encouraging local students to pursue careers in the field.
