The Maui County Department of Agriculture will host a free online workshop from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 16 to help organizations and healthcare providers apply for two fiscal year 2027 grant programs.
The workshop will cover eligibility, grant requirements and the application process for the Food is Medicine Grant and Local Food Purchasing Incentive: Farm-to-Family Grant programs. Registration is available at bit.ly/FiMandFtF.
The Food is Medicine Grant supports Maui County health care providers and community health centers that incorporate locally grown food into treatment for chronic illnesses. Eligible programs include prescriptions for local fruit, vegetable and protein boxes and medically tailored meals.
The Farm-to-Family Grant supports Maui County organizations that purchase locally grown or harvested food or offer subsidies that make local food more affordable. Eligible programs include food pantry initiatives, kūpuna feeding programs and produce and protein box distributions.
Applications will be accepted through 4:30 p.m. Oct. 15. Applications and program information are available at mauicounty.gov/AgGrants.
