Free cancer screenings available for eligible women

1 min read

The Hawaii Department of Health is offering free breast and cervical cancer screenings to women who meet age, income and insurance requirements.

The Hawaii Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program is open to women ages 40 to 64 whose income is at or below 250% of the federal poverty level and who are uninsured or underinsured. Women may qualify as underinsured if they cannot afford their copay or deductible or their insurance does not cover cancer screening.

An online eligibility form is available at mammogram.hawaii.gov. Department staff will review submissions and contact applicants within five to 10 business days. Eligible applicants will be connected with free screening services.

Women with health insurance also may use the website to find a mammogram provider.
