The University of Hawaii Sea Grant College Program and Nā Maka Onaona will hold a Huli 'ia gathering from 11 a.m. to noon Oct. 5 at Baldwin Beach Park, near the shaded area by the restrooms.

Participants will observe seasonal changes along the shoreline and share what they notice to help guide the Kapukaulua Dune Restoration Project. The session was rescheduled after storms prompted organizers to postpone last month's gathering. Attendees may bring a chair or blanket and lunch or a snack.

Tree trimming and removal for the project is expected to finish Oct. 2, with native dune planting planned in the coming months. Organizers also are planning a community planting and celebration Nov. 13 at the Paia Youth & Cultural Center.
