Maui High Foundation announces Hall of Honor honorees

The Maui High School Foundation will hold its 15th annual Hall of Honor Awards Banquet on Oct. 24 at the Izumi "Shine" Matsui Athletic Center.

This year's honorees are Bruce Anderson, Saber Spirit Award; Jason Baum, Award of Excellence; Tia Joaquin, Inspirational Award; Carol Reimann, Spirit of Maui Award; and Ernest Takitani, Silversword Heritage Award.

Anderson is a former Maui High coach and retired principal. Baum is a 2003 graduate, Reimann is a 1979 graduate and Takitani was a member of the Class of 1936. Joaquin has served Maui High as a teacher, coordinator and administrator since 1993.

Doors will open at 5 p.m., and the banquet will run from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Individual tickets cost $125, and class tables are available for $1,500.

Proceeds will support Maui High School Foundation scholarships, student programs, athletics and other opportunities for students.
