The Maui Holoholo Bookmobile is celebrating its 10th anniversary throughout September by bringing books, technology and educational resources to communities across Maui.
The mobile library will stop from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays at Lahaina District Court, 1870 Honoapiilani Highway, and from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursdays at Napili Park, at Honoapiilani Highway and Maiha Street.
The bookmobile offers books for all ages, DVDs, audiobooks, magazines, free Wi-Fi and assistance accessing electronic resources. Bookmobile-themed crafts and stickers also will be available throughout September while supplies last.
Maui Friends of the Library purchased the Holoholo Bookmobile for $300,000 in 2016. Since then, it has served schools, senior housing facilities, preschools and rural communities.
The mobile library also played an important role in West Maui following the 2023 Lahaina wildfires, providing residents with access to books, technology and other resources during the recovery.
