South Maui town hall set for Sept. 30

Updates on storm recovery, roadway improvements and other Maui County issues will be discussed at a South Maui town hall at 6 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Malcolm Center in Kihei.

Topics will include recovery efforts following Hurricane Lowell and the Kona Low storms in March, flood mitigation, the North-South Collector Road and the use of R-1 recycled wastewater, according to council member Tom Cook.

Cook also plans to discuss the proposed South Maui Community Plan, a 20-year growth and land-use framework for the Kihei-Makena region that is being considered by the Maui County Council.
