The University of Hawaii Maui College Culinary Arts program will celebrate its 50th anniversary with its annual Noble Chef Gala and a new dinner series featuring local chefs and culinary students.

The Noble Chef Wine Dinner Series begins Oct. 2 with a five-course, family-style dinner featuring chef Aristotle Aurelio of Kumpad Katering, a program alumnus. The "Local Kine Grinds of the Pacific Rim" dinner will include wine and local beer pairings.

The series continues Oct. 16 with a farm-to-table dinner featuring alumnus Taylor Ponte and Dec. 4 with a French-themed holiday dinner featuring chef JoJo Vasquez of The Ridge at Wao Kele and The Vineyard House Winery. Tickets for each dinner are $250 per person.

The Noble Chef Gala will be held Nov. 13 at the college's Culinary Arts Center in the Pa'ina Building. The event will feature appetizers prepared by student-chef teams working with chefs from Maui restaurants and resorts, followed by dinner, beverages, a silent auction and a "Fund a Need" program. Nā Wai ʻEhā will provide music and hula performances.

Proceeds support scholarships, internships, field experiences, competitions, study-abroad opportunities and faculty professional development.

Sponsorship tables for eight range from $3,000 to $10,000. Individual tickets will become available through Eventbrite on Oct. 1. For sponsorship information, email Jocelyn Romero Demirbag at jocelyn.romerodemirbag@uhfoundation.org.
