Friends of Haleakala National Park will host a volunteer service morning from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 6 at the park's native plant nursery in the Summit District of Haleakala National Park.
Volunteers will help prepare and propagate native plants and, when available, assist with cataloging in the adjacent museum.
The service project is held the first Tuesday of each month. Volunteers may drive to the greenhouse and maintenance area. Participants should bring water, snacks and gloves, if desired. The park will provide other tools.
Sturdy shoes are recommended. Volunteers involved in out-planting work should also bring a hat and sunscreen.
Reservations are required. To register, visit tinyurl.com/3spxep9ul, scroll to "Monthly One-day Nursery Service Events," and select the desired date.
