West Maui residents may dispose of recyclable bulky items for free from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 19 near the Pioneer Mill smokestack on Lahainaluna Road. Drivers should enter from Kuhua Street.
Accepted items include air conditioners, lead-acid batteries, washers, dryers, dishwashers, microwaves, refrigerators, stoves, water heaters, tires, scrap metal and electronics such as televisions, computers, printers, copiers, monitors and electrical cords.
Appointments are required at tinyurl.com/gogreenappointment. Commercial drop-offs will not be accepted.
Adults also are sought for one-hour volunteer shifts. Snacks, drinking-water refills and personal protective equipment will be provided. Volunteers may register at https://tinyurl.com/GoGreenVol.
