Applications for the 2027 Lanai axis deer hunting season will be available starting Oct. 12.
Hunters can secure their spot by visiting gohunthawaii.ehawaii.gov and clicking the "Apply for Hunts" button. The season will be organized into four hunt groups -- archery, youth, muzzleloader and general rifle. All four hunts may be subject to a lottery drawing.
Standby hunting opportunities may be offered depending on the number of applications received. If application levels are lower than anticipated for the archery and general rifle seasons, one or more draws may be eliminated.
