The ball fields at Kalama Park in Kihei will remain closed for sanitization until Nov. 2 following a wastewater overflow last week.
The park’s tennis courts, volleyball courts, basketball courts, playground and pavilions all reopened Oct. 27.
The closures followed an Oct. 22 wastewater overflow caused by a mechanical failure at Kihei Wastewater Pump Station No. 6.
Repairs were completed Oct. 23, and the county has lifted its water conservation request for South Maui sewer customers.
