The north end of Kalama Park, including parking lots, tennis and basketball courts, Little League baseball fields and the pavilion, was closed Friday morning while crews cleaned and sanitized the area. The advisory for Kalama Park has been lifted, and all temporary warning signs have been removed.
The overflow, reported Thursday morning, was caused by a mechanical failure in a force main at the pump station.
Wastewater affected portions of Kalama Park, the Kihei Fire Station and surrounding properties but did not reach the ocean, according to the county.
