Maui Humane Society’s inaugural Run to Rescue fundraiser has reached its 100-runner capacity for the in-person event Saturday, Oct. 17, but virtual registration remains open.
The run begins at 6 a.m. along former sugar cane roads on Mahi Pono land in Puunene. A farmers market featuring Maui Co. Farms and other local vendors will follow the event.
Proceeds will support Maui Humane Society programs, including veterinary care, shelter operations, animal rehabilitation and assistance for pet owners.
Those unable to participate in person can register for the virtual event to run or walk from any location. Donations to individual runners and teams also are being accepted.
