Maui County Mayor Richard Bissen’s Holomua Kakou community outreach program will return to Lanai on Oct. 27-28 after a previously scheduled visit was postponed because of severe weather forecasts.

Staff from the mayor's office will be available to answer questions and provide assistance from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at the ILWU Union Hall, 840 Ilima Ave., Lanai City.

On Oct. 27, a grant-writing workshop will be offered from 1 to 3 p.m., led by Chief of Staff Cynthia Lallo and Budget Director Lesley Milner. Bissen will host a community budget meeting from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a community talk story from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Launched in 2023, Holomua Kakou brings county officials to rural communities to hear residents’ concerns and provide information about county services.

For more information, call (808) 270-7855 or email public.affairs@mauicounty.gov.
