Online classes teaching residents how to propagate native Hawaiian plants will be offered in November by Kula-based Harvest Garden Hawai'i LLC.
The two-hour live virtual workshops will focus on plants native to coastal, wet forest and dry forest habitats. Participants will learn techniques for collecting, preparing and sowing seeds, establishing plant cuttings and caring for native plants from early growth through maturity.
The classes are open to home gardeners, landscapers and others interested in using native plants in gardens, landscaping and conservation projects.
Harvest Garden Hawai'i owner Dave Pollmiller has 15 years of experience in landscaping and agriculture and established a commercial nursery in 2023 that grows more than 50 species of native plants.
The classes are open to the public. Registration and additional information are available at harvestgardenhawaii.com/classes.
