A second community meeting is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. March 3, 2027, at the Paia Community Center to present the draft adaptation plan, which is being prepared by the department and consultant SSFM International. The public will have an opportunity to comment before the plan is finalized in summer 2027.
H.A. Baldwin Park is the county’s largest beach park, encompassing 86 acres of beaches, lawns, trails and forest tracts. The county developed an interim master plan from 2018 to 2020, but damage from severe weather, increasing coastal hazards and additional land acquisitions prompted the need for an updated plan.
