The Maui County Veterans Council will host a free Veterans Day ceremony and community picnic Nov. 11 at War Memorial Gymnasium, 700 Halia Nakoa St. in Wailuku.
The ceremony begins at 9 a.m. in the gym foyer, followed by a community picnic at 11 a.m. on the gym pool lawn. Admission and food are free, with food available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event will also feature information booths connecting veterans and their families with local organizations and services.
A Veterans Day Freedom Ride is being planned, with participants gathering at the former Sears parking lot in Kahului. Times will be announced later.
