Hiilani C. Vegas, 79
Hiilani “Lani” Carolemae Cooper Vegas, 79 of Makawao passed away March 28, 2016 at Kula Hospital. She was born in Pauwela on January 30, 1937.
Mass will be celebrated in her memory at St Joseph’s Church in Makawao on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 10:00am (no visitation). Her family requests casual attire and no flowers, please. Her ashes will be scattered at a later date.
Hiilani is survived by four sons, Alexander (Mary) Vegas Jr of Paia, Edward (Jody) Vegas of Kula, Alvin (Jamie) Vegas of Texas and Eric Vegas of Makawao; sister, Leimomi (Gene) Kelly of Illinois. She also leaves 5 granddaughters, 6 grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter. Hiilani is predeceased by her middle son, Alan Vegas who returned home in October of 2009.
