Rachel worked as an Occupation Therapy Aide at Maui Memorial Medical Center.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Ballard Family Mortuary Kahului from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., service to begin at 11:00 a.m.; burial to follow at Valley Isle Memorial Park at 3:00 p.m.

Rachel is survived by her husband, Simeon Carbonel; son, Craig (Lokelau) Kalawaia; daughters, Charnel Kalawaia, Christty Kalawaia; parents, Wendell and Mary Kalawaia; sister, Edna Ann (Ben) Kalawaia-Ikemori; brothers, Wendell Kalawaia Jr., Wesley Kalawaia, Wayne Kalawaia; 6 grandchildren, Craig (Jeantel) Kalawaia-Hilario, Kalaika Kahunanui-Kalawaia, Noah Kalawaia, Kanale Kahunanui-Kalawaia, Kiani Kahunanui-Kalawaia, Kileia Kahunanui-Kalawaia; 2 great grandchildren, Kaedence Lapinid and Kelsie Kalawaia-Hilario.
