Kale Mars Gilbert, 46
Kale Mars Gilbert, 46, passed away at his residence in Napili on July 16, 2016. Kale was born on Lanai, HI on September 28, 1969, lived most of his life on Maui, HI, and graduated from Lahainaluna High School in May 1987.
Although Kale was born with a serious life-threatening health issue, it never stopped him from loving God, living a good life, being the best brother anyone could have, or from blessing everyone with laughter and friendship. Paraphrasing one of our favorite characters; “the spirit of aloha is strong with this one.” Kale will be missed by all, especially his Napili and Kumulani Chapel ‘Ohana.
Kale is survived by his sisters Gwen (Gilbert) Carpenter and Janine (Gilbert) Galindo, and brothers Randall R. Gilbert and Keola K. Chan, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard C. Gilbert, Georgiana S. Chan, and Kenneth Chan (step-father).
