Masao Obayashi, 90
Masao Obayashi, 90, of Kahului, passed away on July 7, 2016 at Hale Makua Kahului. He was born on May 23, 1926 in Huelo, Maui.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in the pavilion at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery.
Masao started grade school at Huelo Elementary, completed 8th grade at Kealahou Elementary in Kula, Maui, and then graduated from Maui High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on May 25, 1953.
He was predeceased by his father, Nobuki Obayashi, mother, Toyo Obayashi Kawashita and step father, Kinjiro Kawashita. He was also predeceased by his sisters and brothers, Janet Kieko Obayashi, Teruo Obayashi, Muriel Tsuyuko Eberling, Yukiko Oshiro, and Ayako Branson.
Masao is survived by his siblings, Joseph H. Obayashi of Honolulu, Tamiko Tucker, of Maui, Nobuko Kuhn of Boston, MA, and Joseph K. Kawashita of Mission Viejo, CA.
