Richard M. Machida, 79, of Kahului, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2016 at Maui Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Services honoring Mr. Machida were held privately at his request.
Nakamura Mortuary assisted with arrangements.
Richard was born in Puunene on April 17, 1937 to Shuichi & Shinobu Machida. He earned his Bachelor’s degree at UH Manoa. On August 1, 1964, Richard married his love, Irene Kamei, and together they had two children. Mr. Machida retired as the District Supervisor for the Maui County Parks and Recreation Department.
Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 51 years, Irene H. Machida, daughter, Shannon (Juan) Cabanilla, and son, Kayne Machida.
