Dorothy “Teeny” Hashizaki, 73, of Pukalani passed away on September 3, 2016. She was born in Paia on May 27, 1943.
A service honoring her life will be held at Pukalani Baptist Church on Saturday, September 17, 2016. Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 10:30am with service to begin at 10:30am. A private scattering of her ashes will be at a later date.
Dorothy enjoyed taking very long walks and traveling. Although she delighted in being on the go, her greatest joy came from nurturing others. She was selfless in caring for her own children and grandchildren, and she extended that devotion to the many toddlers who attended Pukalani Baptist Preschool where she served as a Teacher Aide for over 25 years.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, George Hashizaki Sr.; daughters, Colleen (Harvey) Mira & Lynne (Peter) Yonamine; sons, George (Dyan) Hashizaki Jr. & Kyle (Tammy) Hashizaki; sister, Shirley “Tiny” Vierra; brothers, Harold (Diane) Brittain & Charles “Roy”(Diane) Brittain; and grandchildren, Kellen & Taryn Mira, Ryan & Reid Yonamine, Kayla & Kaysea Hashizaki, and Kylie & Stone Hashizaki.
