John Alan Gilchrist, 56

John was born in Long Beach, California on December 29, 1959. He graduated from Huntington Beach High School in 1979.

John worked as a server at Kapalua Bay Hotel for 30 years. His infectious laughter and easy smile made him a favorite amongst guests.

John enjoyed surfing, hiking, golf, tennis and spending time with his family and many friends.

John is survived by his two daughters Chelsea and Kirsten Gilchrist; his father Frank Gilchrist; his sisters Margaret Martinez, Joyce Blankenship, and Hawaiian sister Sandra Vanderlaan.

John is preceded in death by his mother Muriel Mansfield Gilchrist.

John, we will miss your sense of humor, generous manner and love for people. We love you!
