Madeline F. Smith, 90 years old, a long-time resident of Haiku, Maui, passed away of natural causes on September 12, 2016 at 6:53pm surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Seekonk, MA on July, 13, 1926.
Madeline is survived by her children, Madeline Heitzman, Linda Christensen, Therese Smith, Mary Smith, Veronica Smith, Fritz Gabriel, Val Self, 15 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by husbands, Alfred J Andrade, Roy Smith, and son, Alfred Andrade.
Madeline was a very beloved, devoted, and active member of her community. She worked as a registered nurse at Maui Memorial Hospital, secretary at St Rita’s Catholic Church and Director of the Pregnancy Problem Center. Madeline was a champion to empower and encourage young people to become responsible adults. She was devoted to the rosary and divine mercy. Madeline was a generous friend and confidante to all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Makawao on Friday September 23, 2016. Viewing and rosary will be from 09:30-11:00am with mass at 11:00am. Burial will follow at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery at 1 pm. Madeline, we will always carry your memory in our hearts.
