It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kathy Raikes, age 53, after a courageous battle with depression. Kathy grew up in Kelowna, BC with her 3 sisters and brother. Her life changed direction when she married Harry and moved to Maui the very next month where they have lived for the last 29 years and raised 3 wonderful children, Andrew, Daniel, and Emily. Kathy worked for over 22 years in the family condominium rental business in Owner Relations and developed close friendships with many owners. She genuinely cared about her clients and their Maui homes. Her cheerful energy is what made her so good at what she did and she always said she liked to spend others people's money. When not at work, she could be seen at the gym, walking her route through Kihei, or swinging a club on the golf course. She was also, at times reluctantly, found skiing or climbing mountains with her family.
But the focus of her life was her family. She loved every baseball game and dance recital. Every beach day and card game. Especially 99!
We welcome family and friends to gather on Feb 4, 2017 at the Keawala'i Church in Makena at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please contribute to a charity that has meaning to you.
