Kimie Ellen Horiuchi, 91

Kimie Ellen Horiuchi, 91, of Pukalani, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2016 at the Hospice Maui Hale, with her loving family by her side.  Private Services were held with the assistance of Nakamura Mortuary.

Kimie was born on May 15, 1925 in Kealia, Kona to Shigematsu & Nanae Omori, she was the third of eight children.

She enjoyed watching UH volleyball, Korean Dramas and travelling to Las Vegas to play her favorite Blazing Sevens slots.

She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Sakai Horiuchi.  She is survived by her sons, Roger (Kumi) & Lester (Karen) Horiuchi; daughters, Alma (Kenneth) Nakano & Stella (Carlton) Shinsato; brothers, Richard & Jerry (Irene) Omori.  She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, 5 grandchildren,  Kelli Nakano Ha, David, Lance & Tracie Horiuchi, and Mizuki Ogawa; and three great grandchildren, Laney, London & Darcie Horiuchi.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Wailuku and Kahului  Maui Adult Day Care Center and Hospice of Maui for their compassionate and loving care. All monetary condolences will be donated to Hospice Maui and the Maui Adult Day Care Center in her memory.
