Masanori Kaya Sr., 91

Masanori Kaya Sr., 91, of Kula, passed away on January 20, 2017 at Kula Hospital. He was born on December 24, 1925 in Wailuku.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday February 3, 2017 at Ballard Family Mortuary, service will begin at 11 a.m., and burial will follow at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery at 1 p.m.

Masanori was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by his sons, Michael (Amy) Kaya, Gerald Kaya, Ransom (Nani) Kaya, George “Keoki” Kaya, and Masanori (Dana) Kaya Jr.; daughters, Linda Oshiro, and Jenai (Connie) Kaya; 1 brother, 2 sisters; 14 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Masanori was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine Pelekila Smith.
