Alfonsa “Goring” Arao Lopez, 83

Alfonsa “Goring” Arao Lopez of Lana’i City passed on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 on Oahu surrounded by her family. She was born in Lahaina on August 2, 1933 and raised on the Island of Lana’i.

Mom will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Alfred, Sr; sons, Alfred, Jr. (Valentina), Edward, Michael (Brenda), Darren (Heathre); daughter, Lori (Derrick)Arruda; brother, Alehandro (Sharon)Arao; sister in law, Margaret Hubin; daughter in-laws, Genoa, Tamashi and Hyon Sun; 15 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. “Goring” is pre-deceased by her brothers, Eustacio Hubin, Theodulpho Arao and sister in-law Maria Arao.

Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Lana’i on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 9:00am-10:00am. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am with burial to follow at Lana’i Cemetery.
