Joanne Nami Nakagawa, 63, of Haiku, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2017, with her loving family by her side. Services honoring Ms. Nakagawa were held privately.
Nakamura Mortuary assisted with arrangements.
Joanne Nakagawa was born on November 14, 1953, on Maui, Hawaii, to Masaaki “Mohawk” & Misao Nakagawa. After graduation from Maui Community College, Joanne worked 1 year in Washington DC with the FBI. After returning home, she worked in various places including Foodland, Maui Pine Cafeteria, Kahalui Airport, and Sam Sato. She liked to embroider and crochet, and spend time with family and relatives especially in Las Vegas.
Joanne was predeceased by her father, Mohawk Nakagawa.
Joanne leaves to cherish her memory by, mother, Misao Nakagawa; brothers, Thomas Nakagawa (Alice) and Richard Nakagawa; sister, Francine (John) Paxson, of Redondo Beach, CA; and many loving aunties, uncles, and cousins.
