Mabel Aiko Yoshida Matsushita, 89
Mabel Aiko Yoshida Matsushita, 89 of Wailuku passed away March 16, 2017 in Kahului. She was born December 11, 1927 in Hilo, Hawaii.
She retired from the State of Hawaii, Department of Labor and Industrial Relations as District Administrator. Mabel loved to cook and share recipes with all, read books by the tons, be out to activities with friends, travel and watch a musical or two. Her favorite is “The Sound of Music” with Julie Andrews. These are a few of her favorite things- watermelon, vanilla ice cream, personal pan pizza and more!
Mabel is survived by her daughters, Susan (Howard) Ito, Dawn (Gerald) Mijo; grandson, Mackenzie Ito; brother, Herbert Yoshida; sisters, Dora Inouye, Tomoye Akita Yoshida and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Tsuneyoshi Matsushita; her parents Yoshio and Tomo Koishi Yoshida; brothers, Lawrence Matsuo, Richard Yoshida and Gilbert Yoshida.
The family would like to acknowledge Hospice Maui for their compassionate care of Mabel.
