Mataki Yamamoto, 90

Mataki Yamamoto, 90, of Kula, Maui passed away September 18, 2018 at Kula Hospital. He was born in Pu’unene, Maui.

Mr. Yamamoto is survived by his wife, Amy Yamamoto; children, Claire (Dwight) Min, Benny (Gayle) Yamamoto, George (Denise) Yamamoto, Jan Yamamoto, Kelly (Gary) Oba and Ruth Manibog. Survivors also include sisters, Tamayae “Daisy” Nishida, Sueki Yamamoto, Sadako “Dorothy” Nishida and 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by brothers, Kazuo Yamamoto, Tatsuo Yamamoto; sisters, Masami Otsubo and Fujie “Betsy” Watanabe.

Mr. Yamamoto served in the US Army. He operated a vegetable farm in Kula and was an avid fisherman.

Private services were held. The family requests no koden or flowers.
