Hiroichi Satsuma, 95

Hiroichi Satsuma, 95, passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2018. He is predeceased by his wife, Jane Hanako Satsuma; parents, Yasuke and Ima Satsuma; grandson, Lee Hiroichi Tobita; sister, Fumiyo Shiratori and brother, Clifton Satsuma.

He is survived by his son Lance (Sandra Lee) Satsuma and daughter Sandra (Ed) Tobita and grandchildren: Chris Tobita, Michele (Jack) Foltz, Robyn (Tom Hayes) Satsuma, Kacie (Nick) Marken and great-grandson, Benjamin Hiroichi Hayes. Siblings: Preston (Alice) Satsuma, Warren Satsuma, and Matsuyo Kanehiro and siblings in law: Bert Kikuyama and Margaret Satsuma.

He was the fourth of eight children. At the age of 14 he worked at the dairy in Honokowai and then served in the military June 1945 – February 1947. He was a journeyman welder at the Pioneer Mill Company LTD until his retirement in 1985.

Hiroichi and his wife Jane, loved to travel throughout the world but their favorite place to stop was Las Vegas and their favorite activities included playing poker, fishing and watching football on t.v.

The family would like to wish a special thanks to Jenny at Hospice Maui. Private family services were held. The family requests that no koden or flowers be given.
