Kay Yoshiko Nakatani, 87

Kay Yoshiko Nakatani, 87, of Kahului, Maui, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2018 with loving family by her side.

Services honoring Ms. Nakatani were held privately by family.

Kay was born on March 3, 1931 to Mr. Moriichi and Mrs. Mine Tachibana in Hiroshima, Japan. Kay worked as a Custodian at Maui High School. She worked very hard and took great pride in providing for her family. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed karaoke, and attending the annual Bon dances, but most importantly, she loved spending time with friends and family.

Kay Yoshiko Nakatani is pre-deceased by her loving husband, Kazuo “Barney” Nakatani; and brothers, Takashi Tachibana, Tsukasa Tachibana, Makoto Tachi-bana, and Mitsuru Tachibana.

Kay leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Casey (Candi) Nakatani, and Max Nakatani; sisters, Shizuko Tachibana, and Tetsuko Kakinouchi; and loving grandchildren, Caleb, Joshua, and Sarah.
