Susan Kuszajewski, 75

Susan Kuszajewski, age 75, resident of Haiku, Maui died peacefully in her daughter’s home, on Sunday, Dec 9 with her family by her side.

She was born to the late Veronica Purol and Theophilis Hoppe in Posen, Michigan. She was married to Eugene Kuszajewski for 56 years.

She is survived by brothers Rev. Lawrence Hoppe, Thomas Hoppe, David Hoppe, George Hoppe, and Norbert Hoppe, and one sister, Bernadette Kenjorski. And one brother preceded her in death, Carl Hoppe.  She is survived by three children, Kent Kuszajewski, Eric Kuszajewski, and Tamyra Freeman, and 7 grandchildren, Angela Reid, Christopher Kuszajewski, and Abraham, Veronica, Eli, Isaac, and Abigail Freeman. 

She was a loving and patient mother, avid gardener, and world traveler.  She enjoyed volunteering at St. Rita’s gift shop and was an active member of Alanon. Susan was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind beautiful memories.

Viewing ceremony will be held at Ballard’s Funeral Home on Weds, Dec 26, from 9am-noon, with a prayer service at 11am. The burial will take place at 1pm at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao.  Reception to follow at her daughter’s home.
